REGISTRATION STEPS & RECOMMENDATIONS
(The registration form is below)
HOW TO REGISTER
1) Each member MUST register individually.
2) You should try to know your team name, your team manager's name or at least the names of some people you plan on playing with so that we can start building the rosters. Team names can come later!
* team managers -- you can register your team IF they are a returning player & if you provide their updated contact information. New players all strongly encouraged to visit this website and read through the information at least once and register themselves.
DON'T HAVE A TEAM?
1) Register as an individual, indicate in the appropriate field that you are LOOKING FOR A TEAM (be as detailed as you need to be, especially if you're new), you can even indicate the name of a friend that you want to play with if they are planning to register.
2) We will try to place you with a team looking for extra players, so long as you're a good fit!
YOU SHOULD KNOW: BUILDING A SKILLED TEAM
We do encourage having 1-2 high performance players on each team and no more than 1 recreational players on each team. Most teams will consist of players with advanced knowledge of the game and of average fitness who are hard working. Having teams of 'lesser skilled' individuals is alright if they meet the skill level requirements of the club but we certainly want everyone to have fun whether they're winning or losing matches.
YOU SHOULD KNOW: COMMUNICATION & SPARES
The club is organized through WhatsApp and there may be the occasional email.
- Each member will be added to the club WhatsApp group for rare announcements.
- Each team member will be added to their team's WhatsApp group (for attendance and general team tactics & antics).
- Each team will have one or more team managers who will be in the Team Managers (Captains) chat group, mostly for organizing spares, making suggestions to the group and of course, more antics. Thankfully WhatsApp has a snooze function.
YOU SHOULD KNOW: NO SPARES' LIST
This year we will not have a spares list. We never really use it!
If you're looking to play volleyball in the club and you don't have a team, then PLEASE REGISTER and indicate that you don't have a team! We will absolutely do our best to get you on a team of best fit! Many players get injured or take time off during the year.
You can register at any time of the season, but you're best to message the league coordinator IN ADDITION to completing the registration form, we kinda forget to check email frequently once the league play gets underway.

(Keep reading to get to the registration form below)
Player Requirements
- Adult 18+ (some exceptions are permitted).
- Physically fit (jump, sprawl, hustle)
- Can understand and play a 5-1. Other systems are generally permitted but the 5-1 is the template that we use so that all is understood from team to team (see our resources section to learn why)
- Safe! Fun! Friendly!
- Advanced Recreational skill.
Team Requirements/Recommendations
- at least 1 female player on the court (most teams have 2 women)
- at least 1 male player on the court (most teams have 4 men)
- we try to keep teams balanced with the other teams so the gender ratio isn't as important as having solid players on the court.
Other
- please review all pages in the RESOURCES SECTION for more information.
- skill requirements
- how to play 5-1, this will help keep spares on the same page as the rest of us.

SOCIAL
Social stuff - (2024/2025)
It's not uncommon for all members to join up after the game to have a couple drinks and unwind. This year, we'll be meeting between 9PM - 11:30PM.
We'll have two 'bigger' events (December 17 & May 6) at Orleans Hot Tubs & Pools.
We usually decide 'on the fly' where we'll go on Tuesday nights but we'll try to settle in somewhere that has a good team program, cold beer and at least a couple good deals on wings and appetizers. So yeah, TBD.
FORMAT
3 sets guaranteed, all to 25 pts), each set counts towards standings! Each team must provide a volunteer referee. You can delegate the job to a volunteer from another team if needed through the 'Captains group' via your team manager(s).
